Mason, Charles “Charlie” F. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019 at Caretel-Inns of Tri-Cities. He was 91 years old. Charles Frederick Mason was born on February 27, 1928 in Mt.

Morris, Michigan to the late Thomas and Agnes (Phillips) Mason. Charlie proudly served his country during World War II with the United States Army, completing his service in the Philippines in 1945 when the war ended. He returned home and continued to serve his community with the Saginaw Police Department, retiring as Captain after 40 years.

Charlie was a Sharpshooter with firearms, receiving many awards throughout his life, and he enjoyed teaching and training. Charlie was a member of the Non Commissioned Officers Association, American Legion Post #22 and past member of #357 Military Police Company. After retirement, Charlie and Irene spent many winters in Rio Grande Valley, Texas, he also enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Charlie married Beulah Irene “Boots” Rolfe on May 2, 1982, and she survives him. He is also survived by his children: Deborah Mason, Cynthia Bierman and David (Denise) Mason; step-son: Michael (Teresa) Barnikow; grandchildren: Charles Mason, Joseph Mason, Jacob (Sarah) Garceau, Joshua (Amy) Garceau, Matthew (Nikki) Bierman, Hyatt (Brian) Smith and Thomas Barnikow; several great-grandchildren; brothers: Thomas (June) Mason and Max (Patricia) Mason; and his sister, Mary Ellen Houston. Charlie was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Mason.

Charlie’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Caretel-Inns of Tri-Cities for the care and support that they have provided. FUNERAL: A funeral service for Chuck will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State).

Deacon Jeffery A. Rauschert will officiate. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Military honor under the auspices of the U.S. Army and American Legion Post #22 will be held at the mausoleum.

VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Friday, March 22, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
