Life Story for Charles Fred “Butch” Earnest III Charles Fred “Butch” Earnest, Jr., of Corsicana passed peacefully in his sleep on March 22, 2018 having succumbed to Parkinson’s Disease and dementia which he had been battling for many years. Butch was born in Hardin County, Texas on February 27, 1945 and was a son of Charles Fred Earnest, Sr. and Bertie Mae (Droddy) Earnest–and had recently celebrated his 73rd birthday. Just out of high school, Butch enlisted in the Navy.

He served as a Seabee from April of 1966 to Jan of 1968, spending most of that time on Midway Island. Upon his return from the military, he began working for Mobil Oil. He spent his next 30 years working as a “professional tourist” driving the surrounding 5 states.

He was married to hometown girl, Linda Brewer on January 26, 1985 and they enjoyed a happy 33 year marriage. Formerly of San Augustine, Texas, Butch is preceded in death by his parents, two nephews Jay Hines and Jon Griffin. He leaves behind his wife and their children, Audra and Clay Trimble, Laura Perez, Matthew and Kate Earnest, 9 grandchildren, Josiah Perez, Tyler Trimble, Cody Bennefield, Kristin Bennefield, LeAnna Earnest, Kalista Pangarakis, Honor Perez, Jonathan Earnest and Delilah Earnest.

He also leaves behind sisters Jean and Cleo Hines, Donnie and Larry Hornsby, Marilyn and Deolan Steptoe, Cindy and Pat Holmes. Other relatives include Kim Lee, Lacey Lee, Christy Kennemore, Jamie Kennemore, and Chuck Earnest, and two uncles Clyde and Rayford Droddy and a host of nephews and nieces. Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Corley Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral services will be held at 10 AM March 24, 2018 at Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joey Romero and Solon Bailey officiating.

Pallbearers are Clay Trimble, Josiah Perez, Tyler Trimble, Cody Bennefield, Jason Earles, Chris Wood, Roy Collins, Billy Trammel, and Honorary Pallbearers will be Calvin Rasco, and John Brewer.
