Rev. Charlie (Chuck) Hahn passed away on January 30, 2019 surrounded by loved ones. He died of kidney failure.

Since 2009, he had battled with multiple myeloma, cancer of the bone marrow. Charlie was born on May 25, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan. In May of 1961, he graduated from Roseville High School where he’d enjoyed many friends and being in the marching band.

One month after graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force. By the time he retired after 28 years, he had reached the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. Following his retirement, he moved to Princeton, TX, where he started attending First United Methodist Church.

After getting to know Charlie, one of the ministers, Danny Gurley, encouraged him to become a minister. In 1999, Charlie received his local pastor certificate. Charlie served as part time pastor at Blue Ridge and Van Alstyne.

Charlie served as full time pastor at Friendship UMC in Sherman, TX and at First UMC in Seagoville, TX. He retired from the ministry in 2009. Until health issues made it impossible, he was very active in Texoma and Dallas Emmaus communities and also Boy Scouts of America.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Joyce of Dallas, TX. Charlie is also survived by a daughter, DeAnna Bibee , and a son, Chuck, both of Michigan and a daughter, Amanda of Reno, NV. He is also survived by 5 step children Lisa Cantwell, Wade Hill, Celeste Latham, Clint Davis all of Texas and Christina McCaffrey of Ligonier, PA.

Charlie also leaves behind 3 sisters, Judy, Jan and Sue and one brother, Dick. He will be dearly missed, he was an altogether lovely person.
