Charles(Charlie) Wayne Mayo age 79 died August 24 2018 of bone cancer in Wellton AZ, He was an avid outdoors man and loved to camp, fish and hunt. Born in Bisbee AZ June 30, 1939 to Wayne and Katherine Mayo, the family moved to and lived in the Bay Area of California. He served in the Army for two years and when he returned, he attended barber school and met Claudia Jean Ann Moore.

They were married April 16 1962. They lived in the Bay Area until the summer of 1972 when the family moved to Orland CA and started a 7-acre farm and he worked in Chico CA as a janitor for Chico State College. In 1978 the family moved to Vashon Island Washington and he worked for Beall’s Green house for about a year before he began working for the Washington State Ferry System.

January 4th 1996 he remarried Candice Young in Winnemucca NV and he retired from the State Ferry System in 1999. While married they lived on Vashon Island, Eastern WA and Settled in AZ on September 24th 2001. both loved the adventure of travel and visiting friends and family.

Charles is survived by his sister Barbara Elease Mayo, his wife Candice Young-Mayo, his daughter Dorothy and her husband Ricky Zevenbergen, his Son Michael and wife Dawn Mayo and his son James Mayo. He also had 2 nieces, 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. A memorial service and potluck will be held at the Eagles Club 18134 Vashon Island WA 98070 September 29 2018 from 1 to 3 pm.
