On Sunday, October 14, 2018 of Sharpsburg, MD, formerly of Edmonston, MD. Beloved husband of 20 years to Clara “Sis” Thompson-Chaney. Cherished father of Cherly Ann Crayle, Robin Chaney, Penny Marie (Jim) Thompson, Paul David (Debra) Thompson, and Jeff E. (Cathy) Thompson.

Wonderful Pop-Pop to Samantha, Jessica, Frankie Crayle, Nick Hormel, Katie (Jeff) Saults, Kristy (John) Compher, Megan Thompson, April (Kevin) Mills, Taylor (Ben) Burker, and Nina Hardy-Thompson. Great-grandfather of Shyann, Knox, Frankie, III, Wesley, Karyona, Wessley, David, and Cadin. Brother of Albert Chaney, Sr. and Shirley (Willie) Bunch.

Mr. Chaney served as a volunteer Firefighter in Prince George’s County for 56 years. He was inducted into the Prince George’s County Hall of Fame. He retired from Safeway after 38 years of service and a member of the Prince George’s County 1778, Elks Lodge.

Friends may call at the Bladensburg Volunteer Fire Department, 4213 Edmonston Road, Bladensburg, MD on Monday, October 22, 2018 from 11 AM until service time at 12 noon. Interment Fort Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Bladensburg Volunteer Fire Department at the above stated address.
