Lincoln – Charles N. Turner, Jr., 81, of Bradenton, FL and formerly of Lincoln passed away peacefully Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the home of his daughter in Lincoln surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Elaine M. (Rohrhurst) Turner. Mr. and Mrs. Turner were married for 63 years.

Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Charles N. and Albertine C. (Bouthillette) Turner, he was a lifelong Lincoln resident before moving to Bradenton, FL where he was President of its Condo Association. Mr. Turner was a sales manager for Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company for 47 years before retiring in 2003. He served on the Lincoln Town Council and the Lincoln Water Commission as well as serving as a Commissioner of the Lime Rock Fire Department.

He was a member and Past Grand Knight of Lincoln Council #4007, Knights of Columbus. For over 40 years, he was the Chairman of the Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll Drive. Besides his beloved wife, he is survived by his loving children, Elaine Beauregard (Mark) of Rangeley, ME, Claudia DiGiovanni and Barbara Svitil (Charles), both of Lincoln, and Charles W. Turner (Camille) of Woonsocket; his beloved fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

He is also survived by his brother, Robert Turner of Florida, and his sisters, Ann Brakenwagen of Narragansett, Ethel Conway of Cumberland and Linda Moore of Jacksonville, FL; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Claudia Turner, Alan R. Turner, Jeannette Champigny and Gary E. Turner, and the great grandfather of the late Chase DiGiovanni. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, June 19 at 11 A.M. in St. Jude’s Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln.

His burial will be private. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln Monday 4-7 P.M. In honor of Charlie’s late great grandson Chase O. DiGiovanni, Charlie’s wish was that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the National Niemann-Pick Disease Foundation or NNDPF, P.O. Box 49, Atkinson, WI 53538-0049.
