Obituary for Charles Parrigin Charles Cooper Parrigin, age 76, of Springfield, passed away Monday, April 9, 2018 at NHC Healthcare. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 13, 2018 at 1pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Ron Baptiste officiating. Burial will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Craig Pentecost, Corey Parrigin, Jay Ward, Jeff Ward, Ronnie Blackburn and Robert Blackburn serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 4-8pm and again on Friday from 11am until the hour of service at 1pm. Mr. Parrigin was born December 10, 1941 in Livingston, TN to the late Cooper and Lillie McCulley Parrigin. He retired from Acme Boot after 38 years of service, was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents Mr. Parrigin is preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy Parrigin and Kerry Parrigin; and his sisters, Faye Vetrano, Pam Parrigin and Marie Qualls. Mr. Parrigin is survived by his daughters, Michele Bilyeu and Valerie Barlow, both of Springfield; brothers, Larry (Faye) Parrigin of Springfield and Tony (Nancy) Parrigin of Gallatin; sisters, Betty Sims of West Monroe, LA, Wanda Henson of Springfield and Teresa (James) Blackburn of Portland; grandchildren, Kimberly McCreary, Duston McCreary, Misty Jones and Craig (Brittney) Pentecost; and great-grandchildren, Tristan Phipps, Sophia Gerard, Devion Bowens and Cataleya Ippolito. Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of these arrangements.
