Mr. Charles R. Marcil, 61, of Pittsfield, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019 at home after a long bout with lung cancer. Born in Troy, NY on October 28, 1957, the son of Edmund and Catherine Purificato Marcil, he was a 1975 graduate of Taconic High School. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance.

Charlie most recently had worked at Hotel on North as a Security Guard. He had previously worked as a Supervisor at Hillcrest Educational Centers. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.

He also enjoyed music and especially attending live shows. Charlie leaves his two children, Christopher Marcil and Cassidy Kelleher and her husband Johnathan and their daughter, Jillian; three brothers, David Marcil and his wife Jan, Edmund “Ned” Marcil and Stephen Marcil; 3 sisters, Katherine Marcil, Charlene Funnell and Pamela Schmidgall and her husband, Jim as well as many nieces and nephews and his beloved cousins Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Mr. Charles R. Marcil will be Friday, March 22, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Dwyer Funeral Home, with the Rev. Peter Naranjo, officiating.

There will be an hour of visitation prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201 in his memory. DONATIONS CANNOT BE MADE ONLINE, but may be made through the Dwyer Funeral Home.
