Charlotte Marie Michalek July 02, 1942 – May 13, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Charlotte Lage Michalek, 76, of Norfolk, VA, formerly of Rock Island, IL, passed away Monday, May 13, 2019, in Norfolk, after a lengthy illness. Graveside services will be Friday, May 24th, 1:30 p.m., at Rock Island Arsenal Cemetery, with Pastor Stanley Gustafson conducting the service. A visitation at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline, IL, will begin at 12:00 noon, with the procession to the National Cemetery leaving Wendt’s at 12:40 p.m. Charlotte Marie Lage was born July 2, 1942 in Rock Island, daughter of Harold and Francis (Witt) Lage.

She married Donald J. Michalek, who preceded her in death in 2001. She was raised in Rock Island, and graduated from Rock Island High. After their move to Virginia, their home was always open for the vacations of friends and family.

Her generous hospitality will be missed. Survivors include her son, Daniel Michalek, her grandchildren, Cassie Cannon, Anna Rose Michalek, Thomas Anderson, and Donald Anderson; her great-granddaughter, Lylha Cannon; her siblings, Virginia Kanary, Cherie Derrick, Dennis Lage, Daniel Lage, and Lillian Hudelson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald, her daughter, Anna Lee Anderson, and her brother, David Harold Lage.
