Chester “Chet” Lee Hixson, age 62 of East Bethel, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 15, 2018 while surrounded by his family. Chet was born June 10, 1956 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Ralph and Helen (Walters) Hixson. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for eleven years.

While serving, he became a marksman and a diesel mechanic. He loved to work as an over road truck driver until his diagnosis of lymphoma in 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Hixson; children, Kimberly (Robert) Hite, Shawna (James) Bradley, Candi (Lance) Baumann, Renee (Thomas) Deibert, Jennifer (Jeff) Kramer, Misty (Darsey) Rasmussen, Amanda (David) Cortez; grandchildren, Kyllie, Austin, Cheyenne, Riely, Jake, Layne, Kaden, Brady, Hailey, Justin, Savannah, CharlyAnn, Caleb, Coltan, Carter, Dawson, Amberlea, Parker; siblings, Elva Ehler, Lois (Lawrence) Gorby, Louise Keltz, Paul (Sandy) Hixson; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. A celebration of his life at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Mattson Funeral Home 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
