Obituary for Christine Cason Alma Christine (Chris) Cason of Wortham, Texas went to be with her Lord on January 7, 2019 after a brief illness. She was born in Ft. Worth Texas on May 19, 1954.

Her parents were the late Dr. Dick and Scotty Cason of Hillsboro, Tx. She is survived by her son Justin and wife Crystal of Wortham, Texas. Her grandchildren are Trent Underwood of San Antonio, Tx, Taylor Underwood of Wortham, Tx, Dusty Price of Wortham, Tx.

and Megan Davis of Hobbs, NM. She is survived by her brother Dick Cason and wife Ann of Huntsville, Tx. She finished her career as a professor in the Art Department at Hill Junior College in Hillsboro.

Her dedication and caring for her students were what she brought to each person in her class rooms. She was a person who shared herself. She certainly did teach, but more importantly, she shared.

She shared her passion for art and what it could mean to the overall being of each person in her class. She was a person who had a lot of interests. She was an accomplished horse person, gardener, “chicken person”, artist, sculptor, and all-round handy woman in fixing things around her place in the country.

She became an expert in all of them. Once again, it was her capacity to share that made her important to others. She most likely knew more than you did about these subjects, but she would listen and let you share with her what you knew.

She learned from others. She shared her knowledge and passion with everyone, and was glad to receive the same from others. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1972.

She later received her associate degree from Hill Junior College, her BA from UT Arlington and her MA from TCU. She was a life-long learner. She was raised in the First Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro and was a life-long member there.

She lived for years on her 10-acre spread south of Cleburne. She was surrounded by what she loved, her horses, dogs, cats and chickens. There was solitude and peace there.

Her last months were also spent in the country on her son Justin’s property. Family visitation and memorial service will be at a later date. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Christine Cason please visit our Sympathy Store.
