CHRISTINE ‘CHRIS’ LARGE May 15, 1944 – March 28, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Margaret Christine “Chris” Large passed away peacefully surround by her loving family on March 28, 2019. She was born on May 15, 1944 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Joe and Theodora Noel. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, and beloved husband John B. Large.

Chris, affectionally called “Nana,” leaves behind her two sons Kirk N. Large and Scott M. Large, daughter Kimberley M. Large, Daughter and Son in Love Marc and Spring Beckman, and bonus son Brent Day. She also leaves behind her most cherished grandchildren Kay C. Wyatt (Ryan), Bennett L. Beckman and Raine E. Beckman, as well as her five great grandchildren KallyAnne G. Wyatt, Ainsley E. Wyatt, Carter J. Beckman, Scarlett D. Wyatt and Decklyn R. Wyatt. After the passing of her husband (John), Chris became a long-term volunteer for the American Cancer Society, and she was instrumental in organizing the first Relay For Life in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Her biggest accomplishment was forming the coalition that was successful in banning smoking inside all public places in Corpus Christi, Texas. Chris will always be known for her huge heart, witty comebacks, passion for hockey, sipping margaritas, and just enjoying life to the fullest. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her life revolved around them. We will be having a Celebration of Life to honor Margaret Christine Large at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 1, 2019 at Southshore Christian Church, 4710 S Alameda Street, Corpus Christi, TX 78412. In lieu of flowers Chris would be most thankful for donations to honor her memory to the CASA of the Coastal Bend, www.
