Memorial services for Christopher Daniel Ferguson, 37, of Rusk (formerly of Lufkin), will be held Sunday, May 19, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Family Life Center in Jacksonville with Dr. Philip Attebery officiating. Mr. Ferguson was born August 2, 1981 in Lufkin, Texas, to Elbert Ferguson Jr. and Margaret Gore, and passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 in a San Antonio Hospital. Mr. Ferguson loved his family deeply and would do anything for anyone.

He loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed the outdoors. Mr. Ferguson was a member of First Baptist Church Family Life Center in Jacksonville. He is survived by his wife, Christie Ferguson of Rusk; daughters, Becca Escher of Rusk, and Karrisa Key and Saphira Key of Huntington; son, Daniel Ferguson of Rusk; father, Elbert Ferguson Sr. of Lufkin; mother, Margaret Gore of Woodville; sister, Mary (Fran) Wideman of Lufkin; step-sister, Susan Justus of Lufkin; step-brothers, John Paul Reese and David Reese, both of Lufkin; aunts, Dorthey Hunt, Mary Bishop, Helen Lois Hale, and Patty Lee, all of Lufkin, Rita Ferguson of Hudson, Linda Trapp of Silsbee, Jean Parker of Lufkin, and Rita Ener of Coldwater; uncle, Eliga Ray Ferguson Sr. of Lufkin; mother-in-law, Joelene Schermann of Jacksonville, TX; father-in-law, Steve Escher of Rusk; sister-in-law, Alexa Escher of Walla Walla, WA; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mr. Ferguson was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Elbert Ferguson Sr. and Bessie Ferguson; maternal grandparents, Leon and Joyce Parrott; and uncles, James Ferguson, Leroy Parrott and Ray Parrott. Shafer Funeral Home, directors.
