Clara’s Obituary Clara Emma Heermann, 100 of Haxtun died Saturday, January 19, 2019. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 22 at Chaney Reager Funeral Home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Heermann was born February 11, 1918 in Pierce County, Osmond Nebraska to Harry & Amelia (Welper) Oltjenbruns. She was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran church in Osmond, Nebraska. Clara came to Philips County by passenger train in 1920.

She was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Holyoke, Colorado. Clara married Lawrence Heermann, January 1940 at Imperial, Nebraska. They resided in Holyoke, Amherst, Haxtun and Sterling.

Clara and Lawrence moved to Evergreen Corner in 1946. They enjoyed traveling in the United States and other countries. Clara was well loved in the community as a 4-H leader, the Hospital Auxiliary, and the Republican Women’s organization.

She enjoyed quilting, cooking, travel and volunteer work. Survivors of Clara are Anne & Bill Gillespie, Janet and Royce Potter, Celia and Ed Dutcher, Lauren and JoEllen Heermann, 8 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Lawrence, her parents, 2 sisters, 2 brothers, grandson and 2 great-grandchildren.
