Mrs. Clara Hopkins, age 83, of Huntsville, Alabama, formerly of Murray, Kentucky, died on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at the Crestwood Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama. Mrs. Hopkins was born in Fulton, Kentucky on July 16, 1935 to the late LD Wright and Mozell (Griffin) Wright. Mrs. Hopkins retired as a physical therapist from the Murray – Calloway County Hospital before moving to Huntsville, Alabama.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hopkins was preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Cotton” Hopkins, who died on August 5, 2015. Mrs. Hopkins is survived by one son, David Childress of Huntsville, Alabama; two grandchildren, Corey Childress and Zachary Childress both of Huntsville, Alabama; aunt, Jean Burkeen of Murray, Kentucky; as well as several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Murray Memorial Gardens with Rev.

Richard Burkeen officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
