Clarence “Clancy”‘s Obituary Clarence “Clancy” Albert Filbert II passed away Friday, May 24, 2019 peacefully at home. The son of Clarence “Bud” Filbert and Mary “Izzy” Isabel Filbert, born in Leavenworth Kansas on April 10, 1949. Clancy grew up in Lansing Kansas and went on to raise his family there as well.

After High School, Clancy joined the Navy where he served his country for four years and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. Upon returning from service, he began working at Great Western Manufacturing for the next 38 year until he happily retired in 2007. Clancy was a talented musician and played in the band “Main Stream” as a guitarist and singer.

From family history to gardening, he was a man of many interest and talents. He was well known for his masterful carpentry and woodworking skills as well as his passion for old Volkswagons. He spent the past few years living a joy filled life with his loving wife Jessie Wendel Filbert in Easton Kansas where his happiness was at an all-time high.

Clancy is survived by his wife Jessie, daughters Cassy (Jake) Pennington and Katie (Scott) Watkins, 5 grand-children Ariana Bradford, Darienne Watkins, Scott Watkins, Maryrose Pennington and Lucille Pennington. Also his sisters Harriet Smith, Nancy Lonas, and Judy Cammack, and his brothers Bill Filbert, Danny Filbert and Chuck Filbert. As well has countless nieces and nephews.

Clancy was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sharon, wife Karen and brother Jimmy. He will be missed by many other dear family and friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Council on Aging.

Graveside service will be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
