Obituary for Clarence “Gene” McCauley McCauley Clarence “Gene” McCauley, age 82, passed away October 5, 2018. Gene was born the only child of the late Kermit and Vada Haddix McCauley in Fairmont, WV on August 4, 1936. He attended school and enlisted in the U.S. Navy to serve his country.

Gene worked for 27 years with Big Bear Stores never retiring because he continued working with Groveport Municipality for 17 years. He was even encouraged by Groveport to serve longer. He was a Teamster #284 member.

Gene was a longtime member of Fellowship Baptist Church, loved singing Southern Gospel music, and was part of the Gospel RoadMasters. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Gladys “Sandy” McCauley; his children, Deborah (Tony) Longwell, Susan (Steve) Sargent, Gene (LouAnne) McCauley, Linda (Jim) Griffith, David (Debbie) McDaniel, Brenda Ashley; grandchildren, Chris (Jenny), Greg (Angie), Justin (Becky), Cari (Cory), Amanda (Dennis), Nikki, Tyler, and Casey; 12 great grandchildren; and all his church family and dear friends. Friends may call at the MYERS-WOODYARD FUNERAL HOME, 587 Main St., Groveport, Ohio on Tuesday, October 9 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday October 10 at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Tony Liuzzo officiating.
