Clarence LaRue Boesdorfer, died on Wednesday February 13, 2019 at Louis Memorial Christian Village in Springfield Illinois. He was born on April 17, 1931 at home near Bradfordton, Illinois, the son of George and Helena Renken Boesdorfer. He married Louise Marie Bourlard on May 28, 1960 in Chicago.

She preceded him in death in 2007. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and five brothers, Elmer, John Walter, Rolland, Norman, and Roy. Clarence graduated from Pleasant Plains High School in 1949.

He served in the Air Force for 4 years during the Korean conflict. He then attended DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago for 2 years. He retired in 1990 after 34 years with AT&T and Illinois Bell.

In the 1960’s, as an engineer with AT&T, he was involved in the engineering of the communications network for NASA. In retirement, Clarence was an active contributor for the world wide online Find A Grave project and also developed numerous genealogy files. He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and also American Legion Post 599 in Pleasant Plains, IL.

Clarence also has done volunteer work at Memorial Medical Center and also at UIS Auditorium. He is survived by a daughter, Kelly Boesdorfer of Springfield; son, David Boesdorfer of Springfield; 3 grandchildren, Lindsey Boesdorfer of Whidbey Island, Washington State, Mary Boesdorfer of Rochester, and Ava Louise Boesdorfer of Danville. Visitation will be held on Monday February 18, from 4pm to 7pm at Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home, 530 N. Fifth St. Springfield IL, 62702.

There will be visitation held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 2645 Old Jacksonville Rd, Springfield, IL 62704 the following day from 9:30am until the time of the funeral at 10:30am. Burial at Camp Butler National Cemetery will take place immediately following the funeral. Memorials may be made the Our Savior’s Building Fund.
