OBITUARY Claudette Joan Amdal September 12, 1936 – February 4, 2019 Claudette Joan Amdal, 82, lifelong resident of New Milford was called home Monday, February 4, 2019. Claudette was born September 12, 1936 in Rockford, the daughter of Claude and Helen (Wagner) Winquist. She graduated from East High School, class of 1954.

Claudette married Leland C. Johnson on January 21, 1956. Claudette married Nils Amdal on October 9, 1970. She worked at American Cabinet, Rockford Screw Products, 28 years at Elco Industries, Inc. and Crosby Tax Service.

Claudette enjoyed her grandchildren, camping, traveling and square dancing. Claudette is survived by her husband Nils; children Mark (Susan) Johnson of Loves Park and Craig (Robyn) Johnson of Wheaton; grandchildren Alek C. Johnson, Quinn P. Johnson, Abbey E. Johnson, Cameron S. (Sara) Johnson, Jaime N. Johnson and Austen G. Johnson; great-granddaughter Riley B. Johnson; step-children Terry (Joy) Amdal of Rockford, Judy (Tom) Pell of Rockford and Carl (Denise) Amdal Newton, IA; step-grandchildren Traci (Leonard Gallagher, T. Shawn (Natalie) Amdal, Nicki (Andy) Cottrell, Ryan (Lindsay) Pell and Nick Amdal; step-great-grandchildren Krystle Moore, Bentley Berry, Mya Pell, Taylor and Hannah Middleton, Brookelyn and Devon Cottrell; step-great-great-grandchild Jordan Middleton; sister Kathy (Tom) Morales; nieces, nephews and cousins. Claudette was preceded in death by infant son Kurt B. Johnson, sister Helen Kay Anderson and her parents.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Juveniles Diabetes Association or Hospice of America. Service to celebrate Claudette’s life will be 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park; visitation for Claudette will be 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. Entombment will be Sunset Memorial Gardens.
