Obituary for Claudie Lee Watson Age 79 of Springfield passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 at his home. He was born March 27, 1939 in Shelbyville, TN to Johnny Dunn and Theresia Chockley Watson, Sr He worked as a fabrication supervisor for McDonnell Douglas and was of the Methodist faith.
He had a mind of his own and did everything “his way”. He proudly served his country in the US Navy. Afterward, he and his wife spent 30 years living in California so that he could pursue his dream of building airplanes.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Dunn Watson, Sr. and Theresia Chockley Chewning; infant son, Joel Nathan Watson; brothers, Johnny Dunn Watson and Charles Phillip Watson, Sr; sister, Mary Lou Watson Comstock; step-father, Edgar George Chewning, Sr.. He is survived by his wife of 56-1/2 years, Martha Burr Watson; son, Robert Scott (Teresa) Watson, both of Springfield, TN; grandchildren, Cheyanne Marie Watson and Jesse James Watson; great-grandchildren, Skylar Watson and Chase Watson; sisters, Inda Watson Adams, Madison, TN and Theresia Louise Watson Brown, Crossville, TN; half-brother, Edgar George Chewning, Jr. TN. Funeral service is scheduled for Friday, June 29, 2018 at 11am in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House with Bro.
Clint Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Nashville National Cemetery at 1pm with family and friends serving as pallbearers and with military honors. Visitation is planned for Thursday, June 28, 2018 4-8pm and Friday, June 29, 2018 9am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
