Obituary for Clyde McDonald Clyde “Mac” McDonald Jr., 85, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri died Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Chateau Girardeau Health Center. He was born August 16, 1932 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Clyde A. McDonald Sr. and Mary Lee Davidson McDonald. He and Dorothy Weber were married May 31, 1958 in Altenburg, Missouri.

He served in the Army as a Corporal during the Korean War. He was proud to be part of McDonald Concrete for over 70 years and the accomplishments of McDonald Concrete, which included University Towers at Southeast Missouri State University, Show-Me-Center, St. Francis Medical Center and the Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge. He loved to race boats, including seven national championships.

After that he was a several time winner of auto drag-racing, which he raced until he was 73. He loved the competition and comradery and always joked about the “secret weapon”. He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church.

He was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his children, Sue (Clifton) Allee of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Julie Greaser of Cape Girardeau, David (Sherri) McDonald of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Marti (Wade) Hartle of Jackson, Missouri; five grandchildren, Devin (Heather) Wingo, Tara (Ben Bertrand) Allee, Trevor (Shelby) Allee, Tessa Allee and Stuart (Andrea) Greaser; seven great-grandchildren, Nicolas Wingo, Joclyn Wingo, Carter Allee, Eloise Allee, Milo Allee, Riley Greaser, Emma Greaser and Cal Bertrand; and one sister, Jeannie (Joe) McGowen of Savannah, Georgia. Visitation will be 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Ford & Sons Mt.

Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau with the Rev.

Mark Martin officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Andrew Lutheran Church or Saxony Lutheran High School.
