Obituary for Marcellus Jones Marcellus Jones, 50, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri died Saturday, June 9, 2018 at his home. He was born January 7, 1968 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Selina Jones-Kearney. Marcellus was a graduate of Rockbridge High School in Columbia, Missouri.

He attended Southeast Missouri State University where he also played on the Southeast football team. Marcellus worked as bar manager and mixologist at Buckner’s in downtown Cape. He was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and the Kohlfeld Scorpions Rugby Club.

Survivors include his mother, Selina (Lorenzo) Jones-Kearney of Grandview, Missouri; two sons, Ryan Sides of Los Angeles, California and Dominique Jones of Omaha, Nebraska; one daughter, Kaili Purrington of Jackson, Tennessee; and one brother, Marque Jones of Grandview. Friends may call 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday, June 15, 2018 at the Osage Center in Cape Girardeau. Funeral service will be at at 11:00 am Friday, June 15, 2018 at Osage Center in Cape Girardeau.
