Obituary for Jon Lynn Steinhoff Jon Lynn Steinhoff, 83, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri died Sunday, June 10, 2018 surrounded by family. He was born October 11, 1934 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Hubert Harry and Clara Willamina Lange Steinhoff. He and Marie Anthony were married September 12, 1959 at Ocean Springs, Mississippi.

He served in the Army in the Korean War. He received a bachelor of science in business administration, bachelor of arts in physical education, masters in physical education, specialist degree in physical education, and doctor in philosophy with a major in physical education. He taught and was assistant director at University High in Cape Girardeau.

He also taught at Shawnee High School and Scott City High School. Survivors include his wife, Marie Steinhoff of Cape Girardeau; one daughter, Karen (Michael) Cowell of Sikeston, Missouri; one son, Jon Lynn Steinhoff Jr. of Laurel, Mississippi; step-son, Darrell Steinhoff of Boulder, Colorado; one grandchild, Shelby York; and one great-grandchild, Gavin York. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Laura Steinhoff.

Visitation will be 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm at the funeral home with the Rev.

Tom Cantwell officiating. Burial will be at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be given to family to assist with funeral expenses.
