Obituary for Dwight Allen Taylor Sr. Dwight Allen Taylor Sr., 87, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri died Friday, June 1, 2018 at his home. He was born June 20, 1930 in Blodgett, Missouri to Claude Everett and Mayme Jane Chappell Taylor. He and Patricia Foreman where married in 1950 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, she passed away Feb.
20, 1980. He and Dorothy Bradley were married December 13, 1980 at Cape Girardeau Missouri. Dwight was a driver for Jerry Lipps Trucking and then for R.B. Postashnick, He later was transportation manager for Delta Company and retired in 2011 from ASA Aspalt as general manager.
He took pride in his work. He attended Centenary United Methodist Church and was a member of Elk’s Lodge in Cape Girardeau. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Taylor of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; two daughters, Debra (Chuck) Nenninger of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Lynn (David) Christensen of Vidor, Texas; two sons, Allen (Laurie) Taylor of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Mark (Deborah) Bradley of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; one sister, Evelyn Matlock of McClure, Illinois; one brother, Beryl Taylor of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; five grandchildren, Sarah (Bill) Fisher, John (Stefanie) Taylor, Matt (Brittany) Taylor, Chris (Katie) Christensen, Jeremy (Christine) Christensen; Eleven great-grandchildren, Corbyn, Annika and Teaghan Reed, Charli Fisher, Hailey and Chase Taylor, Christopher ,Leighton, Kinsley, Madden and Graham Christensen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife Patricia Taylor, son, Steven Bradley; brother: Dick Taylor; and grandson, Chip Nenninger. Dwight loved the St. Louis Cardinals, antique tractors, feeding seagulls at Cocoa Beach, serving donuts at church, and playing with all the grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Ford & Sons Mt.
Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau. Funeral service will be at at 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau with the Rev.
Barry Winders and Rev. David Conley officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
