Obituary for John Michael Young John Michael Young, 68, of Jackson, Missouri passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at his home after a battle of many years with cancer. He was born October 8, 1949 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Haywood “Kay” and Joyce Burr Spangler Young. John was a truck driver, worked on the river and in construction.

He enjoyed watching boats and barges up and down the river. He lived in Jackson for the past 20 years. Survivors include his mother, Joyce Burr Young of Round Rock, Texas; two sisters, Jo Ann Young (Jack, deceased) Crowell of Rolla, Missouri and Judith Young (Keith) Sharp of Round Rock, Texas; and two nieces, Angela Crowell (Don) Keeting and Catherine Crowell (Ben) Tipton.

He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Susan Kay Young Berube. Friends may call 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will be at at 2:00 pm Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating.

Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau. Memorial contributions may be given to a Charity of Choice. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of John Michael Young please visit our Sympathy Store.
