Obituary for Carolyn Marie Welter Carolyn Marie Welter, 70, of Granite City, Illinois passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois. She was born June 16, 1947 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Ellis “Buck” and Helen (Graham) Whittaker. Carolyn was a security office for district 150 schools in Peoria for 30 years.

She enjoyed playing video poker machines and taking trips to Las Vegas. Survivors include her son, Jeff (Sandy) Welter of Mahomet, Illinois; one daughter, Kimberly Freese of Peoria, Illinois; three grandchildren, Brady Welter, Courtney Freese and Landon Freese. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Whittaker, Sr.; two sisters, Delores Ann and Gayla Ann Whittaker.

Friends may call 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Long officiating.
