Obituary for Clyde R. McMillian LAKELAND – Clyde R. McMillian, 72, of Lakeland, passed away on April 21st, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Galveston, TX, on July 30, 1945 to the late E.E. and Birdie McMillian. He attended Lamar University in Texas where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Geology.

He moved to Lakeland in 1982. He retired in 2006 from the Mine Safety & Health Administration, after 32 years. Clyde was an avid golfer, playing at Sanlan Country Club, he was also a local Chess Club past president, and was rated Class A Chess player.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda; daughter, Rena McDowell; son, Dorian Trutsch; grandson Jacob Mc-Dowell; and sister Jane Bridgeman. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Eugene ‘Mac’ McMillian.
