Coley B. Davis, Jr., 83, of Smiths, AL passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Piedmont Regional Hospital in Columbus, GA. A graveside service with Full Military Honors will be held 2:00 pm EDT on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 at Vance Memorial Chapel. Mr. Davis was born May 10, 1935 in Russell County, AL to the late Coley B. Davis, Sr. and Rowene Gilliland Davis. He served our country proudly as both an active duty soldier and a member of the Army National Guard.

He earned a degree to become a certified auto mechanic which turned into his career as a teacher. Mr. Davis taught autoshop at Jordon HS for 25 years before retiring. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Bean Davis and 2 brothers, Donald Davis and Gary Davis.

He is survived by his daughter, Desiree D. Davis; sister, Dorothy Megahee; several nieces and nephews, extended family, and many caring friends. Online condolences may be shared at www.
