Colton Michalec Our beloved son and little brother, Colton Christopher Michalec, 16 years old, went home to the loving arms of Jesus on Sunday, April 22, 2018. Colton was born in Akron on September 15, 2001, the son of Christopher and Diane (Kulasa) Michalec, little brother to Austin and Collin Michalec. Colton grew up in Randolph Township and was a sophomore at Waterloo High School where he played in the marching, concert, pep and jazz bands.

He loved music and was a talented musician. He played the clarinet and the alto saxophone for marching band and played the bassoon for concert band. He also could play the piano.

Colton loved being a part of the band, something he was very proud of, and treasured the dear friends he made there. He had just been chosen to be drum major for his Junior and Senior year for the marching band! He was extremely proud of that accomplishment!

It meant so much to him! He loved music so much that he hoped to play his bassoon and clarinet in college and then try out for an orchestra and play professionally on the side. He also shared his musical talent with his church, St. Peter of the Fields in Rootstown, by playing his clarinet with St. Peter’s choir along with his brother, Collin, who plays the trumpet.

He loved the time he spent with Judy and the choir and was proud to play alongside his brother at Mass. Colton was also very passionate about anything to do with aviation and the military. He could tell you anything about any military aircraft ever made!

He wanted to join the Air Force and become a pilot, and eventually be a commercial pilot. His favorite places in the world to go, were the MAPS museum in North Canton, the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in Dayton, and Steven Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, VA. Colton loved Legos!

! Ever since his hands were able to put two blocks together, he was building things out of Legos! His favorite sets to build were anything Star Wars!

He would look forward to his birthday and Christmas because he knew he would be getting some Lego sets! ! !

Most of the time, he would have them built by the end of the day! Colton and his dad loved to ride their bicycles on long trips together. One time, when Colton was only 10 years old, he and his dad rode their bicycles 60 miles to Beachwood Mall, so they could visit the Lego store there!

They spent the night at a nearby hotel, and then biked most of the way home the next day! Colton and his dad went on many long bicycle trips especially during Spring break. He always enjoyed those special times with his dad!

Colton liked living in the country and if he wasn’t busy building Legos, you could find him out back in his special spot in the woods with a campfire, his bow and arrows and his cassette player enjoying nature. He was very “old school”. He had a record player and loved listening to old records of music from the 40’s through the 60’s.

Colton also loved to spend time out in the barn where he would build models of airplanes and cars and draw and paint. He was such a talented artist! His drawings, especially would always amaze us!

He wasn’t your typical teenager. He liked to dress up in suits and bow ties and always seemed much more mature than 16! Colton was such a loving person!

He was so kind and warm-hearted! He was an absolute joy to be around! His beautiful smile and laugh were contagious!

He was so beloved by his entire family! His young cousins especially loved spending time with their “Tolton”. He never minded playing tag, swimming in the pool, pushing them on a swing…anything at all.

He was happy to spend time with them! He loved his family very much! Colton will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him!

Colton, we will see you again in heaven someday! You will never be forgotten! We love you!
