Connie Ellen Hamby, 62 of Elkton, MD, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018 at home. Born in York, PA, on December 6, 1955, she was the daughter of the late James Orval and Margaret Blake. Connie enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, she would light up when they were around.

She loved the kids more than she loved herself. She enjoyed going to Ocean City, amusement parks, traveling to WV, watching wildlife and cooking. She loved her dog Amy and taking care of her outdoor cats.

Connie loved taking care of her family and always put everyone before herself. Survivors include her husband of 45 years: Roy G. Hamby; one son: James G. Hamby (Candace) of North East, MD; 3 sisters: Brenda Rinehart (Paul), Sue Thompson both of North East, MD and Bonnie Hinton (Will) of Dover, DE; and 3 grandchildren: Makayla, Mason and Maddox Hamby. She is also survived by her special neighbors: Delaney & Lacy Bodine.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by 2 brothers: Ronnie and Larry Blake. Funeral service, conducted by Frank C. McFadden will be held Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 7:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation beginning at 6:00 pm.
