Obituary for Conrad Ellis Shaw Conrad Ellis Shaw, 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Hamilton Pointe Nursing Home in Evansville, IN with his loving daughter by his side. He is preceded in death by his father Raymond R. Shaw, mother Flossie Ellis Shaw, step mother Gladys Webb Shaw, and his beloved wife of 63 years, Freda Draper Shaw who passed away in 2014. He was born near Mt.

Vernon, Illinois on August 11, 1925. Connie graduated from Wayne City High School (Illinois) in 1942. He served in the US Navy during WW II from 1943 – 1946.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois in 1952. He then began a 35-year career as a petroleum geologist working for both larger and smaller oil exploration companies. He lived in Henderson in the early 50’s while working for Ashland Oil and moved back in 1973 to work for Tartan Oil before retiring in 1986.

Connie was a member of several oil industry groups and associations. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Henderson and cherished many deep friendships here in Henderson. Connie is survived by a daughter, Gayle Osborne (Ron) of Sebree, KY, a son, Brian Shaw (Tracye) of Louisville, KY, and a granddaughter, Lauren Skelton of Louisville, KY.

Relatives and friends are invited to Connie’s Life Celebration from 11:00 am until the service time on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday at the funeral home with Reverend Jim Wofford and Reverend Cindy Green officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.

Military honors will be rendered by the American Legion Worsham Post #40. A special thanks to the nurses of the 800 wing of Hamilton Pointe Nursing Home for their quality care.
