Constance K. Brown born, second of four children, on April 14, 1926 in St. Joseph, MO, passed away on February 1, 2019. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Anne Kay and brother, Leonard Kay. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Marvin Brown; daughter, Valerie Kay Brown (Lloyd Goldenberg) of Chevy Chase, MD; sons, Dr. Mark Mandell-Brown (Ann Hanson) of Cincinnati, OH and Randall Craig Brown of Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Sam and Lana Goldenberg, Michael (Emily) Mandell-Brown, Melissa and Maor Gabso, brother, Franklin (Joan) Kay, sister, Linda (Richard) Thomas.

Connie graduated from the University of Missouri in 1948. She was an Advertising Sales Representative for Columbia Missourian newspaper published by the Univ. of Missouri School of Journalism, for the Shreveport (LA) Magazine and partnered with her husband as Director of Sales for the couple’s magazines in Columbus, OH.

She served on the Board of Directors of Jewish Family Services and was a member of Hadassah. Connie was very active socially, participating in bridge, mah jongg, canasta, golf and tennis. Highly skilled and creative in such crafts as needlepoint, crocheting and ceramics.

For the family ski trips, though, she preferred the role of lodge mother. Her amiable and outgoing personality and ability to see the best in everybody enabled her to form and maintain long-term friendships. At times she even approached total strangers because she thought that they resembled someone whom she already knew.

She loved life and was loved by her friends, adored by family and lovingly attended by Juliette Southerland-McLendon. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, February 4 at Epstein Memorial Chapel, 3232 E. Main St. Burial will follow at New Tifereth Israel Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at Wexner Heritage House on Monday from 4-6pm and Tuesday from 2-4pm.
