Brian Buettner, Pastor officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Cristal has requested that guests bring a photo of themselves so her family can be reminded of those whose lives she touched. Cristal Evette Dorsey was born February 15, 1968 in Orange, Texas to Jack and Bertha (Fontenot) Barron.

She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Monday, April 29, 2019. She grew up in Vidor, Texas where she graduated high school. She later attended Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.

Cristal enlisted in the U.S. Army in July of 1987 and while enlisting met her husband, John M. Dorsey. They were soon married on September 9, 1987 in Orange, Texas. Cristal served five years in the U.S. Army, serving as a pharmacy assistant in Fortuna, California and continued to the same job in Lawton.

Following her discharge from the Army she worked as a library assistant at John Adams Elementary School and Lawton High School. She was a member of the Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading and teaching.

She is survived by her husband, of the home; three children, Devin Michael Dorsey, Dalton Gabriel Dorsey and Donovan Raphael Dorsey, all of Lawton; her mother, Bertha Barron, Beaumont, Texas; her brother, Dr. Bryan Barron, Vidor, Texas; her sister, Denita Schmeig, Vidor, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Her father and a brother, Aaron Barron, preceded her in death. Memorial contributions may be made to Lawton High School for a scholarship in Cristal’s name.
