Cristina Montoya, 97, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 20, 2018, in Albuquerque, NM, where she resided. Cristina was born August 30, 1921, daughter of Enrique and Beatrice Ortiz in Truchas, NM. Cristina was married to Nestor Montoya for 69 years, who preceded her in death on January 15, 2012.

Cristina was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers Gilbert and Richard Ortiz, and sisters Emiliana Ortiz and Tonie Bermudez. Cristina graduated from Menaul High School. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and loved to cook for her family.

She was known for her holiday feasts. She is survived by her daughters, Connie (Ronald) Goffice, Jean Montoya, Regina (Rick) Wells, Rita (Louie) Holcomb, and son, Henry (Debbie) Montoya. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Scott (Michelle) Goffice, Todd Goffice, Christine (Mark) Lauer, Justin Montoya, Chad (Audra) Wells, Amy (Scott) Edwards, Courtney (Ryan) Nielson, Nicole (Matthew) Jones, Denise Holcomb, Steven (Katelynn) Montoya, Lorie (Robert) Quintana, and Melissa Montoya.

She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted at Sunset Memorial Park with her nephew, Robert Montoya, presiding. A graveside service will take place on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
