Daniel “Dan” Sturgis, age 94, of Plant City, Florida, passed away on Tuesday November 13, 2018 in Plant City, Florida. . Mr. Sturgis was born on April 5, 1924 in Ambrose, Georgia the son of the late Henry Sturgis and Alma Swails Sturgis.

He worked as a welder with Ben-Griffin Feed, was veteran of the United States Army, having served in World War II. He loved his family, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and fishing. Mr. Sturgis was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Sturgis.

Survivors include his son, Thomas Sturgis (wife, Racquel) of Plant City, FL; two grandchildren, Brenna Sturgis and Jackson Sturgis. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday November 21, 2018 at 11:00am at New Hope Church Cemetery, Ambrose, GA with Military Honors by Ft. Stewart Honor Detail.

The family received friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8:00pm at Sims Funeral Home. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www. simsfuneralhome.com.
