Obituary for Daniel Fortuna De Leon McAllen, Texas Daniel Fortuna De Leon, 72, entered eternal rest on Monday, April 16, 2018 surrounded by his family at his home in McAllen after a 4 year battle with cancer. Daniel was born on January 25, 1946 in Alamo,Texas to Narciso and Cristina De Leon. Daniel was a long time resident of McAllen.

Daniel loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Daniel loved bird watching and caring for all types of birds. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, traveling and visiting as many casinos as he could accompanied by his wife and friends.

Daniel will be remembered for his strength and his fascinating memory. Daniel truly enjoyed life to the fullest. Daniel will forever be remembered in our hearts.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Alicia Campos. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 51 years Yolanda G. De Leon; his children-Daniel De Leon Jr. (Jessica), David De Leon (Michelle), Deborah De Leon Reyna (Ray); 9 grandchildren Deven, Andria, Wesley, Lydia, Laura, Thomas, Dominick, Katie, Madison; Siblings-Criselda “Cris” (Amadeo) Cano, Gracie De Leon, Roy De Leon, Eddie De Leon, and extended nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Rivera Funeral Home from 5 PM to 9 PM with the recital of the Holy Rosary at 7 PM.

Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Cremation services will follow. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Rivera Funeral Home in McAllen.
