Daniel’s Obituary Daniel Mike Reiter, 89, Minot, ND, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2019, at Trinity Homes in Minot. Dan was born on January 3, 1930, the son of Mike and Mary (Burkhardsmeier) Reiter, on the family farm near Orrin, ND. He graduated from Towner High School in North Dakota.

Dan was enlisted in the United States Army in January 1949 and was honorably discharged in June of 1953, having spent some 34 months of his enlistment in Germany. After leaving the service, he worked for the North Dakota State Water Commission as a construction foreman. On November 3, 1955, he was united in marriage to Mona Bellerud in Towner, ND.

He was employed by the City of Minot for 29 years, serving the last 20 years as Superintendent of the Water and Waste Water Department. He retired in September of 1991. Mona passed away on February 18, 1996.

He was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, a member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts all in Minot. Dan enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by sons, Daniel C. (Kym) Reiter, Minot and Rodney D. (Tiffany) Reiter, Mission Viejo, CA:Two grandsons, Tyson (Tanya) Reiter of Fargo, ND and Trevor (Chelsey) Reiter of Minot; three great-grandchildren, Kaden and Kaitlyn Reiter of Surrey, ND and Gavin Reiter of Fargo; three step great-grandchildren, Chad, Katlyn and Lindsey of Fargo, ND; Nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends further survive him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mona, and two sisters, Josephine (Gordon) Smith of Springfield, OR, and a sister who died at birth. Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church, Minot. Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.

Visitation: Monday, May 6, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND. Vigil Prayer Service: Monday, May 6, 2019 at 6 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Memorials are preferred.
