Obituary for “Danny” (Daniel Alan) Morefield “Danny” Morefield, 51, of Murphysboro, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Daniel Alan was born on September 1, 1967, in Murphysboro, to Oliver Junior Morefield and Eva Jean (Dewitt) Morefield Brewer. He had worked as a mechanic especially on semi trucks.
Danny liked to collect eagles, horses, crosses, and unicorns. He also liked to hunt and fish and being outdoors He is survived by six children Molly Jo Morefield of Brimfield, Jacob Daniel Morefield of Monticello, KY, Rachel Lynn Morefield of Peoria, Cody Oliver Morefield of Murphysboro, Adam Porter of Tilden, IL, and Aaron Porter of Ohio; 5 grandchildren Zaiden, Serenity, Elijah, Rex and Lillian, and 3 more on the way; His fiancee Geraldine Cowens of Murphysboro; his mother Eva Jean Brewer of Murphysboro; 6 brothers and 3 sisters (Arthur) Glen (Janet) Cross of Murphysboro, George Morefield of Edwards, (Marvin) Frank Cross of Gorham, Betty (Dan) Kimmel of DeSoto, Mike (Tina) Morefield of Edwards, Tony Morefield of Peoria, Robert “Bob” Morefield of St. Genevieve, MO, Lora Morefield of Edwards, and Patricia (Pat) Johnson of Murphysboro. He was preceded in death by his father and five siblings Ed Cross, Cheryl Fruits, Sarah Morefield, Linda Emery, and a twin brother in infancy to Glen.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2018, at Pettett Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Dean Worthen officiating and burial at Murdale Gardens of Memory. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
