MADISON – Darlene R. Jensen, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019. Dar was born with a disability and according to our mother the doctor said she wouldn’t live a year. Guess God had a different plan.

Dar was active with the Madison disabilities community and attended Camp Wawbeek in the Dells every summer. Dar graduated from Madison East and went to work immediately for the Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles retiring as a supervisor. After retirement she became an active volunteer at the V A hospital.

Dar was widowed twice and her first husband Bob was a polio survivor. Dar was active, independent and a special friend to all especially the most vulnerable of God’s special needs children. Dar’s resilience came because of her disabilities.

Although her disabilities never slowed her down or kept her from being the Best Version of Herself. Her final years were spent at All Saints Memory Care where she continued to enjoy those who the world felt had little value. The staff was always inspired by her kindness and willingness to accept the challenges God Blessed her with.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at GOOD SHEPHERD PARISH – ST. JOSEPH CHURCH, 1905 W. Beltline Highway, Madison, with Msgr. Tom Baxter presiding.
