Darlyes “Honey” McQuay, 83, Hillsboro, ND died on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018 at the Sanford Care Center in Hillsboro. Darlyes Jean Evenson was born Oct.

24, 1935 at Rutland, ND to Harold “Duke” and Minnie (Rodlund) Evenson. She graduated from Cogswell (ND) High School and attended ND State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND. Darlyes married Dale “Mac” McQuay on April 29, 1955.

She worked in banking in Forman, ND, Fargo, ND and Grand Forks, ND before starting with Grand Forks County Social Services where she worked for over 20 years. She retired in 1999. In retirement, she kept busy with miscellaneous jobs as a census worker, merchandiser and product sampler.

Besides keeping her active, this provided a little extra for her trips to Mahnomen. She also was a UND Sioux Fan, loved her dogs (Muffin, Peaches and Q-Tip) and lake life at Floyd Lake. Honey is survived by four sisters, Dorine “Toni” McManus, Fargo, Delores “PeeWee” Breker, Cayuga, ND, Darline “Tiny” Soberg, Fargo and Caroline (Arvin) Herman, Maplewood, MN; two brothers, Gerald (Joan) Evenson, Plymouth, MN and Arnold “Cody” (Pam) Evenson, Grand Forks; brother-in-law, John Vaudrin, Denver, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three siblings, Eleanor Anderson, Diane Vaudrin and Harold Evenson Jr., and four brothers-in-law, Gene McManus, Ralph Breker, Harry Soberg and Dick Anderson. Funeral: Friday, Nov. 2, 2018 at 10:30 AM at West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo with visitation one hour prior and reception following.

Burial: Friday at 2 PM at Lakeside Cemetery, Milnor.
