Daryl’s Obituary Daryl Lester Bateman, age 64, was born August 29, 1954 in Valparaiso, IN and entered eternal life on February 12, 2019 in Hobart, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen (Scott) Bateman-Coleman, Ivan Bateman; step-father, Ralph Coleman; and grandson, Alexander (Bateman) Corbeille. He is survived by his daughter, Tamera Bateman; grandchildren, Ashley Corbeille, Summer Bateman and Damien McCraney; brothers, Dale (Paula) Bateman, Lester (Laura) Bateman, Dan Bateman; sisters, Pat (Jerry) Carr, Lorri (Tom) Philbin; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Daryl was a lifelong resident of Hobart, Indiana. He enjoyed stock car racing and the outdoors. Daryl retired from T & J Meat Packing in Chicago Heights after working there for 35 years as a butcher and maintenance man.

He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Per Daryl’s wishes, all services are private. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart.
