Obituary for David Duane Smith David Duane Smith passed in peace with family by his side on October 7th, 2018 in Kennewick, WA. David was born in Klamath Falls, OR on October 16th, 1963 to Curtis and Georgia Smith. In 1968, his family relocated to the Tri-Cities area.

He grew up in West Richland, WA graduating from Hanford High School in 1982. Throughout the next several years, David spent time in California and Alaska. He had two beautiful daughters, Aero and Eden.

He received an Associates Degree in Applied Science for Engineering Technology from Columbia Basin College in 1993. Some of David’s favorite past times were participating in the local pool and dart leagues and he belonged to several local golf courses over the years In 1995, David started working for the City of Kennewick first as an Engineering/ GIS Technician and finally as a Field Engineer II. Most recently, David worked for the Benton PUD as a Design Field Engineer.

In most recent years David enjoyed camping, fishing, watching Nascar, tinkering around the garage, and he most enjoyed spending time with his favorite grandson, John. David is survived by his daughters, Aero Konsavage (Smith) and Eden Oliver (Smith). His wife, Dena Conklin, 5 beautiful grandchildren, John, Nicole Victor IV, Taylor and Caleb.

His father, Curtis Smith and step mother Sandra. Brother Darrin Smith, sisters Brandee Perkins and Shannon Langland, and step father of 46 years Gerry Martin and far too many aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends to list. David is preceded in death by his mother, Georgia Martin (Flowers), maternal grandparents George and Blanch ‘Nonnie’ Flowers and paternal grandparents Cecil and Vera Smith.

Mueller’s Tri-Cities Funeral Home in Kennewick, WA is in charge of arrangements. Because David was such a fun, energetic, loving guy, we will celebrate his life next summer doing what he loved, camping along the Rogue River in Prospect Oregon playing frisbee golf and telling tall tales around the fire.
