Madison- David J. Bernstein, age 70, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018. He was born on July 26, 1947 in Orfordville, WI, the son of George J. and Janet (Yunger) Bernstein. David graduated from Monona Grove High School in 1965.

After high school, he proudly served in the United States Army in Vietnam. David worked as a mechanic for Research Products for over 46 years. David was a member of the 4 Lakes-Capital City, Madison Chapter Motorcycle club.

He was passionate about riding Harley motorcycles and participated in many charity rides throughout the years. He is survived by his siblings: Jean Shelton and Richard (Linda) Bernstein; nieces, Abbey Bernstein and Tracey (Alex) Feuling; his companion, Jennifer Reese and his beloved cat, Mayhem. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Per David’s request, no services will be held. He will be interred at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, Wisconsin at a later date. Memorials in David’s name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Disabled Veterans of America.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital and the staff at Agrace HospiceCare for the care they gave David. David was proud of his service in Vietnam and was thankful for the many people he served with. On his behalf, we would like to thank all veterans for their selfless service to our country.
