David L. Childs, 59, of Bellaire passed away on June 13, 2018 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. David was born on October 11, 1958 in Dowagiac, MI to the late Lloyd and Shirley (Tinker) Childs. David loved being with his large family and enjoyed being able to see them often.

He liked listening to music country and rock and roll and sharing his music with his daughters. David spent his free time fishing, watching Star Trek and working on cars. David is survived by his wife, Jillian Childs; 5 daughters, April (Kristina) Childs of Bellaire, Judithann (Joseph) Stott of Traverse City, Della (Christopher) Grandstaff of Mancelona, Dora Childs of Mancelona, Bianca Woolworth; 11 grandchildren, Emily Childs, William Lowery, Lexi Childs-Brown, Tyrel Stott, Wallace Lowery, Leila Stott, Nolan McDonald, Izabell Grandstaff, Sean Grandstaff, Alyna Rauschenberg and Kyler Rauschenberg; 3 brothers, Jeff (Tina) Childs, Steve (Robin) Childs, Don (Tammy) Childs; 3 sisters, Linda (Terry) Lambrix, Chris Garcia and Kimberly Lambrix along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, David Michael Childs and sister, Judith Childs. A memory sharing time will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of sharing.
