David L. Reed, 78, of Corydon, died Sunday, December 23, 2018, at Rural Health Care in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the oldest child of Henry Lewis Reed and Roberta (Dodds) Reed, born April 16, 1940, in New Albany, Indiana. David was a skilled plumber and electrician and could build almost anything from a dog house to a three story building.

He was self-employed for a number of years. He was a long time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon, Indiana, and was a member for more than thirty-five years of the Old Capitol Aerie No. 2794, Fraternal Order of Eagles in Corydon, having served two terms as president.

He also served as a District Director for the Eagles for many years. He was currently a member of the Jeffersonville Aerie No. 1527, Fraternal Order of Eagles.

David married the former Diane J. Wieczorek on May 16, 1964, after serving proudly in the U. S. Marine Corps for four years. David was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Angela Lowe, and brother-in-law, David Rehbein. He is survived by his wife, Diane, daughter, Theresa and son-in-law, Mitchell Wise of Mt.

Pleasant, South Carolina, and grandchildren, James Wise of Corydon, Michelle Lowe of Louisville, Kentucky, Angel and husband, Evan Crone of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Russell Smith of Seoul, South Korea. He is also survived by two sisters, Judy and husband, Jerry Kemp of Boonville, Indiana, and Pamela Hunchman of Lexington, Kentucky. The funeral Mass will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018.

Burial will follow in the Central Cemetery in Central, Indiana. Visitation will take place at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday and at St. Joseph Catholic Church after 8:00 a.m. Saturday. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic School, the Alzheimers Association of Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana, 6100 Dutchmans Lane, Ste.

401, Louisville, KY 40205, or to St. Joseph Catholic Church for masses for David.
