David’s Obituary SEYMOUR: David Luby, age 63, entered into eternal rest on February 15, 2019, at the West Haven VA Medical Center, following a long illness. He was the loving fiancée of Sharon Perkins Sanford. David was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on October 15, 1955, son of the late Raymond and Mary Barrett Luby.

A resident of Ansonia and Seymour his entire life, he was last employed as the Head of Maintenance at Beaver Brook Apartments in Ansonia. A proud veteran, he honorably served in the United States Navy. David was a member of the American Legion David S. Miles Post 174 in Oxford.

He loved to help others and enjoyed long drives, visiting the casinos and sitting outside during the good weather with family and friends at “Luby’s Lounge”. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. In addition to his fiancée Sharon, he leaves to cherish his memory, sons, David J. Luby and Christian Blumenthal (Zeferina) of California, daughters, Melody Pizzola (Walter) of Ansonia and Heidi Behlman (Timothy) of Naugatuck, a brother, Richard Luby of Seymour, nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, Daniel Sanford. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering on Saturday February 23, 2019, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 12:45 pm, United States Navy military honors will be accorded.
