David A. McNelis, 44, of Colona, passed away at his home on Saturday, February 16, 2019. Cremation rights have been accorded and Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd. in Moline is assisting the family. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

David was born on June 24, 1974, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of James and Florence C. (Ireland) McNelis. David was a sports fan to the Chicago Bears, Bulls and White Sox. He was very artistic and loved to travel to Ireland.

Survivors include his mother, Florence McNelis and siblings, Lisa Betts, Jim (Diana) McNelis, Anne (Keith Frainey) McNelis, Jenny (Dave) Kirkman, John (Wilma Asis) McNelis. David is also survived by his nephews and nieces, Erik, Matt, Samantha, Garrett, Jaclyn, Annie, Liam, Ayva, Taidhg, Shane, Kiera, Neal, Rowan, and Isla. He is proceded in death by his father, James.
