Obituary for David P. Morzenti David Paul Morzenti, 70, of Island Lake, WI passed away peacefully on October 28, 2018 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI after courageously battling long-term heart failure. He was a greatly loved father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle. David was born on November 26, 1947; son of the late Charles and Anna Morzenti.

He was preceded in death by sister, Kathleen, and brothers, Ken and Donald. Survivors include his daughter, Thuy, and his son, David (Tricia), and his two grandchildren, Madelyn and Joseph as well as his ex-wife, Mai (Grand Prairie, TX); sisters; Virginia (Syracuse, NY) and Patricia (Toronto, Canada); brothers; Charles (Sharon) of Island Lake, Gary (Yvonne) of Montreal, and Jon of Hurley. He also has numerous nieces and nephews.

David enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1964, and he served with units in Korea, Ft. Meade, MD, and Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1968 and then worked as a contractor in Vietnam and Greenland.

He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Kenosha, WI, and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After receiving his law degree, he moved his family to Montreal, WI to set up a general law practice in Hurley. He really enjoyed practicing law and representing the people of Iron County.

He was a political enthusiast, offending some and heartening others, with a legendary sense of humor. His greatest joys were his daughter and son, along with the rest of his family. David had a generous and loving heart beneath a tough exterior, and the best of him lives on in his children.

He was a unique and courageous individual who never gave up. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Namaste.

Per his wishes, no formal service will be held. Instead, the family will plan a celebration of life in summer 2019. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
