Obituary for David R. Halverson David Rhodes Halverson, 91, of Fond du Lac, died on Friday, November 09, 2018, at Theda Care Regional Medical Center in Neenah. He was born on January 3, 1927, in Illinois, the son of Edward C. and Ann Serres Halverson . David was employed at Giddings & Lewis from March 1946 to November 1994, working in parts and purchasing.

He was a member of the G & L Staff Club and the Giddings & Lewis Oldsters Club. David enjoy swimming laps at the Aquatic Center three days a week, horseback riding in the Kettle Moraine, hiking and biking on the state trails, bowling, traveling, cross country skiing, golfing and racquetball. At the age of 50 took second place in the FDL Racquetball Tournament.

He is survived by many loved nieces and nephews, especially Jim (Chris) Serres of Fond du Lac, Gail (Dale) Yakaites of Marshfield, Kathy (Dave) Triatik of Portage, Susan (Tony) Pohl of Glendale and Barbara (Barry) Horne of Fisk; special friends, Mike and Laura Schwandt of Fond du Lac. He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister Betty Peterson, cousins: Richard (Catherine) Serres and Ruth Newhold, and his special friend Mary Wahoske. VISITATION: Friends may call on Thursday, November 15, 2018, from 10:00 – 12:00 p.m. at Kurki-Mach Funeral Chapel, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac.

FUNERAL: A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at 12:00 p.m. at Kurki-Mach Funeral Chapel, with Chaplain Karen Kraus officiating. Special thanks to the staff and his neighbors at Grancare for their care and friendship shown to David. Memorials may be directed to the Fond du Lac Humane Society.
