Obituary for David Richard Funk David Richard Funk, January 6, 1971-June 12, 2018, passed away due to health complications in the early morning at his home in Sandy, Utah. His father, Albert Gail Funk, surely embraced his first child to pass heartily when he came through the veil. David was the father of 6 children who will miss him deeply.

David was a loving, fun and wonderful father who always made his children feel loved and would do anything for them. David enjoyed spending time with his family. His kids will remember the candies, slurpies and other treats that David became infamous for having around.

He enjoyed his job selling cars and loved collecting and shooting guns. He was the life of the party, lighting up the room and making people smile. You knew he was there when others were laughing.

There is so much that we could say about David; this is but a small fraction of the legacy that he leaves behind. He is loved by many and will be deeply missed as he was unique person- God only made one David Funk. David leaves behind his dear mother, Arla Wangsgard Funk, 4 surviving siblings (and their spouses): Christine (and Brian) Funk (Jackson), Melvin (and Julie) Endito, Matthew (and Rebecca) Funk, and Michael Funk.

His 6 children, Jameson David (and his spouse, Arletta), Taylor Paul, Kelsey Madeline, Sydney Anne, Ryan Albert and Rhonan Emil Funk. He also had several nieces and nephews that he enjoyed joking around with. David also was expecting his first grandchild in August, that he undoubtedly is teaching all of his dance moves and jokes to before he is born.

He was looking very forward to being called Grandpa. David was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and lived there the majority of his life. He served an LDS mission in Columbus, Ohio from 1991-1993 and lived in San Antonio, Texas from 2014-2016.

He was an avid swimmer growing up and swam proudly for East High School. He worked in law enforcement, construction and development, and most recently was in car sales. We will be having a small graveside service with family Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Mt.

Olivet Cemetery in SLC.
